TASK Clinical Research Centre
(TCRC)

TCRC is a registered 24 bed hospital for the conduction of Early Clinical Development (ECD), PK and other in-patient trials.

The site has been named a Strategic Site for Early Clinical Development by IQVIA, a large multinational contracts research organisation (CRO).

Site facilities include the following:

  • 24-hour on site nursing staff equipped in medical emergency management (emergency trolleys installed).
  • Infection controlled participant wards ventilated via negative air pressure and sealed from main centre by automated infection control double doors.
  • On site sample processing room with centrifuge and refrigeration equipment.
  • In-house pharmacy registered with the South African Pharmacy Council and Department of Health (DOH).
  • Central temperature monitoring (with Cloud backup and alarm systems).
  • Monitor offices, reception areas, doctors rooms
  • Outsourced on site specialised catering service ensuring adherence to the nutritional needs of trial participants.
  • CCTV monitoring, access-control and on site, off street secure parking.
  • On-site support team offices including monitor offices, reception areas, doctors rooms.

U-TASK

U-TASK is based in Utrecht, The Netherlands in the facilities of University Medical Centre Utrecht (UMCU).
U-TASK is a collaboration between TASK and UMCU for Early Clinical Development clinical trials (Phase I, FIH, FIM) with a focus on 6 Strategic Research Programs, i.e.:

  • Brain
  • Cancer
  • Infection & Immunity
  • Child Health
  • Regenerative Medicine

The collaboration combines the research knowledge of TASK with internationally renowned researchers in extensive clinical facility.

Facilities include:

DELFT

Community based TB outpatient facilities close to SA DOH day clinic premises.

TASK Delft is community based out-patient trial site conducting trials in various therapeutic areas. The facility is situated on the grounds of Delft Day Clinic (a South African Department of Health facility).

Facilities include:

  • Sample processing facilities with centrifuges and refrigeration.
  • Monitor offices, reception areas, doctors rooms.
  • Central time monitored for IP protocol adherence.
  • Central temperature monitoring (with Cloud backup and alarm systems).
  • Onsite nursing staff equipped and skilled in medical emergency management (emergency trolleys installed).
  • Emergency power infrastructure.
  • Dedicated participant transport.

TASK Central is an out-patient trial site conducting trials in various therapeutic areas including vaccines, asthma, osteoarthritis, RSV, and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

The site is geared toward flexibility, and facilities include:

  • 24-hour on site nursing staff equipped in medical emergency management (emergency trolleys installed).
  • Infection controlled participant wards ventilated via negative air pressure and sealed from main centre by automated infection control double doors.
  • On site sample processing room with centrifuge and refrigeration equipment.
  • In-house pharmacy registered with the South African Pharmacy Council and Department of Health (DOH).
  • Central temperature monitoring (with Cloud backup and alarm systems).

TASK Central is an out-patient trial site conducting trials in various therapeutic areas including vaccines, asthma, osteoarthritis, RSV, and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

BROOKLYN CHEST

This site has 25 bed in-patient capacity and is based within the grounds of Brooklyn Chest Hospital, enabling access to specialized hospital services.

The facilities include:

  • Infection and ventilated controlled participant wards via negative air pressure.
  • On site sample processing room with centrifuge and refrigeration.
  • Restricted areas for infectious disease control.
  • Central time monitored for IP protocol adherence.
  • Central temperature monitoring (with Cloud backup and alarm systems).

GEORGE (EDEN)

TASK Eden Clinical Research Centre, a dedicated research site (DRS), established in the coastal city of George, South Africa.

The site works in close collaboration with the provincial hospital allowing for in-patient studies within the hospital, and referrals from attending physicians.

The 380m2 facility consists of:

  • Doctor examination rooms.
  • Clinical procedures general ward with lung function equipment.
  • Trial pharmacy for storage & dispensing of Investigational Products.
  • Dedicated sample processing lab.
  • On-site nursing staff equipped and skilled in medical emergency management (emergency trolleys installed).
